Jan Taylor

AIA, LEED AP
I didn’t start my career as an architect, but I should have better read the signs. I’m most fulfilled by a balance of the creative and the analytical. When I went back to school to study architecture, I knew I’d made the right decision.

A consensus builder, mentor, and natural leader with more than 20 years in the field, Jan’s experience and passion for design make her indispensable to clients, and an invaluable part of ARC’s leadership team. For all her projects, she draws on narrative and nuance to give form to an aspirational vision. Jan’s strength in building planning enables her to enhance the experience of navigating a space with story-like progression that unfolds organically and delights in the unexpected, and with each new reading reveals something deeper and more meaningful.

From exceptional athletics facilities to design and planning for a range of elite institutions, Jan’s careful attention to detail enables her to balance an environment’s disparate but overlapping needs and priorities. She effectively manages complexity without ever losing sight of the big picture, and her quiet competence is an essential part of ARC’s work and culture.
